Willow Tree Complete Collection by Susan Lordi

Willow Tree® figurines are hand carved by artist Susan Lordi. Pieces are cast in resin from her original carving, and then individually painted by hand. Willow Tree figurines use family and friends as models, Susan tries to capture a moment in time, or express a feeling. Expression is revealed through gestures only... a tilt of the head, placement of the hands, a turn of the body. The simplicity of form and the absence of facial features signify Willow Tree. It is Susan's hope that these pieces be meaningful to both giver and receiver.

"As an artist, I enjoy the challenge of incorporating fresh ideas into the making of Willow Tree. For example, using thin rusted metal to outline a shape, adding a bit of sparkle with gold leaf, or creating a textural relief with sculpting tools. I like to add a little surprise to each piece." We will no longer be carrying the Willow Tree line. Remaining items are CLEARANCE priced and available while supplies last!!

Willow Tree Figures
“I like to use animals or objects from nature, which can be metaphors for human experiences…rosemary for remembrance, a bird for healing, flowers for beauty.  These items can mean different things to different viewers.  I try to give each piece another level of meaning that's not always obvious — that the viewer can sense or imagine.” Willow Tree Artist Susan Lordi

Willow Tree Angels
“Angels seem to resonate greatly with all ages and cultures of people.  To some they represent protection, to some they are an outward reminder of inner peace and virtue, and to some they represent a way to remember those who have left this earth.  Regardless of personal conviction, angels seem to provide comfort to those searching for answers in a world with so many unknowns.” Willow Tree Artist Susan Lordi

Willow Tree Nativity
Simplicity and classic form mark this timeless scene. As enduring as the story it portrays, the Willow Tree Nativity has become part of families’ holiday traditions since it was introduced with the original collection of Willow Tree in January 2000.

The Christmas Story
“The Christmas Story is a story from the past… but the overwhelming emotions of holding a new baby, starting a new family, and wanting to protect them forevermore are present today in every culture and every age.  My hope is that the gestures of Mary and Joseph will represent these powerful feelings of love and protection.” Willow Tree Artist Susan Lordi

Willow Tree Boxes
Keepsake Boxes are small boxes with detached lids.  Memory Boxes are larger, with hinged lids, made of wood and hand-painted.  Both are great places to keep treasures, notes and jewelry.

Willow Tree Candleholders
Hand-formed shapes and rich earthy glazes…these porcelain candleholders are as lovely to handle as to view.  The tealight softly illuminates a sentiment on the inside edge.  Equally effective as a place to hold pencils, brushes, treats…functional and beautiful Willow Tree.

“I’m really excited about the new Journals! I hope those of you who enjoy writing your thoughts and memories – or just keeping track of daily errands – find them unique, functional, and beautiful to use.” Willow Tree Artist Susan Lordi

“I remember a gift of a music box – long ago. When I opened it, a little ballerina magically twirled to the melody of Always. Dance has always inspired me – it’s sculpture in motion! When I sculpt, I try to carve movement into the form. So now, having these pieces turn to music seems a natural and exciting progression for Willow Tree. The classic melodies are familiar and happily reminiscent. I hope that a gift of a Willow Tree Musical can be both sentimental and celebratory.” Willow Tree Artist Susan Lordi

Willow Tree has four ornament formats to offer for holidays, or when a special occasion calls for a little something extra...

Trellis Ornaments are the newest addition. Metal lace filigree forms the arch and base around traditional favorites. The trellis is dusted with glitter that creates a little sparkle!

Metal-edged Ornaments are small plaques edged in metal lace and dusted with glitter. The sentiment for each piece is written on the back so that whichever way they hang, there’s something lovely to view.

The Dated Ornament makes a great commemorative piece for weddings, new babies, graduations...

and classic Figurative Ornaments represent the range of Willow Tree sentiments in a small size.

The Roses in my Garden™
The Roses in my Garden™ tells the story of your family.  With figurines representing boys and girls of different ages and personalities, you can gather those that are most meaningful, to represent the roses in your own garden.

“Roses are a universal symbol of love. Like children, they require extra care, patience and hard work from the gardener. But when they bloom, their combination of intense fragrance, color, and beautiful form is worth all the effort.” Willow Tree Artist Susan Lordi
